The Sunday Post [80]

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at the Caffeinated Reviewer! It's an opportunity to share news, post a recap for the previous week, showcase books, and highlight what's planned for the week ahead.

News

I honestly forgot about writing this post until a few minutes ago (it’s 5:37 PM ๐Ÿ˜…). We went to church this morning, grabbed food from a hotdog stand we love, and then tackled grocery shopping. I spent the rest of the day finishing Graceless Heart so I can share my review this week.

Since we’re off tomorrow for the holiday, I’m on my second cup of coffee—a pistachio latte from Starbucks (thank you, teacher gift cards!)—and fully planning to enjoy a late night in bed with a book. The kids helped me get the house back in order after a busy week, and now they’re playing a game together before bed.

I saw these flowers at the store and couldn't resist bringing them home.

What I'm Watching

Copy and paste from last week: We’re still working our way through My Hero Academia and Spy x Family, but we’re almost done with both! We’ll need something new to watch soon. Any recs?

I’ve been really working on my NetGalley ratio and have made a lot of progress this month! The Past Due Reviews posts help a ton, and I finally went back and reviewed several children’s books I read ages ago just to get them cleared out. I still have books on there from 2018 ๐Ÿ˜…—don’t judge me. I judge myself plenty, LOL.

I hope you have a wonderful week! Happy reading!

Would you be into watching older anime series? I'll hop over to My Anime List (it's like Goodreads for anime and manga) to joggle my memory of some of the series I used to watch with my son when he was younger. I was watching the Flying Witch anime, but compared to the manga it's pretty boring. Ha ha. I am excited for the Witch Hat Atelier anime to premier in April! Have you had a chance to look at that manga? It starts out MG but about half way through it changes to mature YA, which really bothered me from a book bloggers point of view because it was lovely MG with a great message and I can't recommend it as such anymore. It's still a great series, though. ๐ŸŽ

Enjoy your day off and have a wonderful week. ☀

    1. I love older anime too! Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, and Cowboy Bebop are all classics and still hold up so well. There’s just something special about that era of anime that hits differently. I go back and rewatch them all the time. ❤️ My kids enjoy reading manga, but I usually stick to the shows.

I would be frustrated with the change as well. Was it because the characters got older?

  4. It's nice when the kids get big enough to help out. I saw something about kids doing chores and them being successful in life. Happy reading!

    1. It’s a lot longer than I was expecting—reading on a Kindle can be so deceiving! ๐Ÿ˜… We already watched (and loved) The Apothecary Diaries. I need a new season ASAP!

    1. In all fairness, some of them are children’s books I’ve had sitting on my NetGalley list for a while. I’m just trying to knock out what I can! ๐Ÿ˜„
