My Weekly Pull [68] & Can't Wait Wednesday [38]

My Weekly Pull is something I do every Wednesday (yep, it's Thursday) to show which comics I had pulled for me that week! If you're into comics, or you're looking to start, please join me! If you decide to do your own post, there's a link-up at the bottom. I would love to stop by and check it out!

Goosebumps Horrors of the Witch House #1 by Denton J. Tipton, Chris Fenoglio, Matthew Dow Smith
Transformers #4 by Brian Ruckley, Angel Hernandez, Umi Miyao, Ron Joseph

Jacob's comics for the week!
Batman Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #1 (of 6) by James Tynion IV, Freddie Williams II, Kevin Eastman
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Urban Legends #12 by Gary Carlson, Frank Fosco, Kevin Eastman
Amazing Spider-Man #20.HU by Nick Spencer, Cory Smith, Greg Land
Deadpool #12 by Skottie Young, Scott Hepburn
Punisher #11 by Matthew Rosenberg, Szymon Kudranski, Greg Smallwood
Savage Avengers #1 by Gerry Duggan, Mike Deodato, David Finch, Skottie Young
War of the Realms #3 (of 6) by Jason Aaron, Russell Dauterman, Marco Checchetto

I know it's a day late (again), but it's not my fault this time! My husband is supposed to get his list to me before Wednesday, but he's been procrastinating more and more lately. He knows I do a My Weekly Pull post every week, and that I like to include his list, so he has promised to start sending them to me a week in advance! That means he should send me next week's list today, so we'll see how that goes.

Also, ordering comics at the last minute sometimes means we don't get the covers we want, and I had to order three from Amazon (way more expensive doing it that way), but we didn't have much of a choice. He wanted the Eastman covers for both Batman Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Urban Legends. The third comic I had to order through Amazon was Goosebumps Horrors of the Witch House because it had already sold out!

Look! A Goosebumps comic! I'm getting this to read with my son, because he's been enjoying the books. I hope it's good! Transformers is another comic I'm reading with him, and we're both loving it.

I'm sorry if you linkup to this post and it's been late the last few weeks. Since we're going to start ordering comics a week early, it shouldn't happen again.

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, that highlights upcoming releases that we're anticipating and excited to read. It's a spinoff of the feature Waiting on Wednesday that was hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall
Expected publication: September 24th 2019
Synopsis (via Goodreads): In the faux-documentary style of The Blair Witch Project comes the campfire story of a missing girl, a vengeful ghost, and the girl who is determined to find her sister--at all costs.

Once a year, the path appears in the forest and Lucy Gallows beckons. Who is brave enough to find her--and who won't make it out of the woods?

It's been exactly one year since Sara's sister, Becca, disappeared, and high school life has far from settled back to normal. With her sister gone, Sara doesn't know whether her former friends no longer like her...or are scared of her, and the days of eating alone at lunch have started to blend together.

When a mysterious text message invites Sara and her estranged friends to "play the game" and find local ghost legend Lucy Gallows, Sara is sure this is the only way to find Becca--before she's lost forever. And even though she's hardly spoken with them for a year, Sara finds herself deep in the darkness of the forest, her friends--and their cameras--following her down the path. Together, they will have to draw on all of their strengths to survive. The road is rarely forgiving, and no one will be the same on the other side.

Rules for Vanishing sounds awesome! I hope it's as mysterious as it sounds.

    1. I really hope the Goosebumps comic is a good one, because the only one I'm reading with my son right now is Transformers. Some of the others are too violent or inappropriate for his age. I want to get him something he'll be interested in, and look forward to every month, and this one seems promising. :)

  2. I remember watching Goosebumps on tv when my daughter was younger.

    1. Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? were two shows I watched all the time growing up! As kids, we enjoy being scared, haha. As an adult? Not so much. I avoid horror and most thrillers. Hopefully the comic won't be too scary for me. ;)

    1. I want to know why a weird path appears out of nowhere once a year! Where does it lead? Where does it go when it's not there? Can people/things get out if no one can get in?

  4. I like david Finch art so that jumped out at me. I wish he's do more Marvel stuff. And to answer your question... no I haven't caught up on WCA yet! Ack! I'm gonna try and binge em this week/ weekend though... :)

    1. Nice! I feel like it's rare for us to see a lot of new writers/artists in comics. The tend to use the same people for various things.

  5. Good luck! Hopefully he sent in his list! I love the Goosebumps series, so it's exciting to hear there are comic versions as well.

  8. That synopsis had me at Blair Witch Project. Even being a mockumentary, I absolutely loved it and it scared me senseless. I love books about urban legends and this sounds brilliant!

    1. I think this is the first time I've seen/heard the term mockumentary. Interesting concept! I don't particularly like to be scared, but this one sounds more mystery than horror. I really want a modern day book about Big Foot or the Yeti!

    1. This is the first issue of a new comic, but I'm sure there will be a trade paperback after a few issues. That's what they typically do! I prefer comics to graphic novels, and enjoy seeing all the covers. It's also nice having something to look forward to every month. :)

  11. That Goosebumps looks so cool. Going to have to see if my library will get it if it ever comes out in a bindup. I also liked your CWW feature. Cool cover and even better sound premise.

    1. They should do a trade paperback for Goosebumps after a few issues (at least that's been my experience), so maybe your library will get it! Our local library is very small, and they don't do comics or graphic novels. I often have to request the audiobooks I want, since their selection is almost nonexistent. :(

  12. Getting the cover you want is so important! It just feels wrong when you get a different cover. Rules for Vanishing sounds like a great thriller/mystery! The Blair Witch Project scared the crap out of me when I watched it a while back. Hope she finds her sister at the end.

Just wondering what the title of that Hallmark movie you were talking about in your comment on my blog? I'd love to check it out. I need to somehow get the Hallmark channel. I don't have regular TV anymore so I get stuff through Netflix, Hulu and YouTube. I do love a good Hallmark movie. :)

    1. I'm so happy you understand! Oftentimes, I won't get an issue of a comic if I'm unhappy with the cover (unless it's the only cover available for that comic). I'd rather wait and find a copy of the cover I really want! However, if it's like $85, I'm happy with whatever else they have, haha. That's too much money!! ;)

I haven't actually seen The Blair Witch Project, but I'm familiar with the concept. I'd have to ask my mom what the name of that movie is! She watches Hallmark movies ALL THE TIME. I believe she said it was just called Mail Order Bride... Try Googling it and see what pops up! :)
