The Sunday Post [83]

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at the Caffeinated Reviewer! It's an opportunity to share news, post a recap for the previous week, showcase books, and highlight what's planned for the week ahead.

News

This week was a bit of a rough one, and Friday couldn’t come soon enough. I didn’t get as much reading time as I hoped, so what I’m currently reading and what I plan to read next are the same as last week. I don't know if it was the full moon or what, by my students really struggled this week. It didn't help that we had a training (PD) day on Friday and very little time in our rooms to prep. We did get a lot of planning done as a team, though.

We have been enjoying the sunshine and warmer temperatures. I've been spending as much time outside as I can, and even took a short walk with one of my coworkers when we had a break on Friday. We were both mentally spent and needed the fresh air and movement. It's hard sitting through hours of PD and planning when I'm used to moving around all day.

I did swap out my snowflakes for hearts last night! What do you think? Should they be more transparent? Smaller? I don't want them to be too distracting, but I thought they were super cute. ❤️

What I'm Watching

I haven't had a lot of time to watch anime this week, but I should finish the newest season of Shield Hero soon. I wish I could binge shows like I used to!

    1. I went with a lighter color so hopefully that helps! I appreciate the input. ❤️

It was a beautiful week! I'm sad the temperatures are going to go down the next few days, and we even have snow predicted on Friday. ๐Ÿ˜”

  2. I like the hearts, they are cute. I don't have a clue how to do stuff like that on the blog, but I appreciate it on other people's blogs. We are enjoying the sun being out as well, except it's still so cold. I am longing for spring. Have a good week, I hope you have more reading time ahead!

    1. If you ever want a quick tutorial, I'm happy to help! This one is just an html code you put in your layout (like a new gadget) and it does the rest. You can tweak it as needed.

I desperately want warmer weather. I'm over the cold and cloudy days.

    1. Thank you! I'm REALLY committed this year to making reading and blogging a priority/focus. I have so much fun doing both and want to make sure I'm putting aside time to do things I enjoy.

  5. I LOVED The Bone Queen, it was one of my most favorite reads of 2025.

My kids were super weird all week - 100% the full moon. Even kids who did not normally act like silly gooses were the biggest silly gooses of all. We have a PD this coming Friday and Monday off.

    1. Good to know! I still haven't started it... ๐Ÿ˜…

You had PD on Friday the 13th? Lucky! My students were WILD and exchanging Valentine's didn't help. We have today off as well (thank all the stars). I really needed this long weekend. I took two personal day this month to give myself a four day weekend and I can't wait!

  6. I'm sorry you had a tough week. Yay for walks, though! It's still super cold where I live. I went for one short walk last week and nearly fell, so I think I'll wait until it's warmed up a bit more to resume my regular walks!

    1. It happens! Teaching in February should be considered a sport. ๐Ÿ˜‚ For the shortest month, it really does feel like one of the longest during the school year.

I'm sorry you almost fell! I get so nervous walking when it's icy outside, and really need to invest in a treadmill or walking pad for when the weather is bad. Spring is just around the corner! We've nearly made it.

  7. It's so cold here and I've been stuck inside. That, and the state of the world, has been feeling a bit blue. I was away at a funeral so that doesn't help. But I head to Florida in 12 days, so that will be fun!

    1. Your trip to Florida is coming up! I hope the weather is amazing and you have a nice trip. We've had warmer weather and I've been leaving all my windows open to enjoy the fresh air.

  8. Hearts! What a nice touch! I am sorry to hear you had a rough week. Those training days an be extra long, can't they? Hopefully this coming week will be better. I hope you are enjoying your current reads. I hope to read both of them. And your upcoming reads all sound good too. I was thinking of maybe rewatching one or two of the anime shows I really like. There's the added bonus of my daughter often joining me when I do. :-) I hope you have a good week, Lindsi.

    1. Thank you! I'm thinking about shamrocks for March. Rough weeks happen! This one wasn't particularly better, but I blame Friday the 13th and Valentine's Day. ๐Ÿ˜… My students have just been so mean to each other lately and I don't know what's gotten into them.

Which anime are you wanting to rewatch? It's always fun when our kids decide to join us! We've gotten rid of all our subscriptions except for Crunchyroll. They did increase their prices recently, but it wasn't too bad. Nothing like Netflix.

    1. Thank you! It wasn't too bad until Friday. I blame it being the 13th and the kids exchanging Valentine's. Fourth grade is rough on their emotions.

  11. We are still having double digits below zero. Gawd how I hate winter. Ha ha. ๐Ÿฅถ

I've been trying to find a place to watch anime series I haven't already seen, for free. One of my son's friends said he would give me the comp code for his Crunchyroll account, but Sebastian keeps forgetting to ask him for it. ๐Ÿ˜

Have a wonderful new week. ๐ŸŒž

    1. Double digits BELOW zero??? No thank you! I don't think I could survive in those conditions. I'd never want to leave the house! You need to track down your son's friend and get his code. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  12. Paperwork is so draining.
The hearts are cute but a little smaller might be good.

Wishing you a better reading week, and warmer weather

    1. I will check to see if there's a smaller option! It has to be an emoji html recognizes, but thank you for the feedback! :)
