My Weekly Pull [143] & Can't-Wait Wednesday [118]

My Weekly Pull is something I do every Wednesday to show which comics I had pulled for me that week! If you're into comics, or you're looking to start, please join me! If you decide to do your own post, there's a link-up at the bottom. I would love to stop by and check it out!

Werewolf by Night #2 by Taboo, Benjamin Jackendoff, Scot Eaton, Mike McKone
Undiscovered Country #10 by Charles Soule, Scott Snyder, Giuseppe Camuncoli
Daredevil #24 by Chip Zdarsky, Mike Hawthorne

An Unkindness of Ravens #3 by Dan Panosian, Marianna Ignazzi, Qistina Khalidah

Jacob's comics for the week!

Department of Truth #3 by James Tynion IV, Martin Simmonds
Spawn #312 by Todd McFarlane, Carlo Barberi, Francesco Mattina
Amazing Spider-Man #53LR by Matthew Rosenberg, Nick Spencer, Federico Vicentini, Marcelo Ferreira
Doctor Doom #9 by Christopher Cantwell, Salvador Larroca, Declan Shalvey

I have boxes of unopened comics that are starting to accumulate upstairs, because out of sight really is out of mind. I don't have time to think about all of the comics I haven't read yet, but I did just spend a significant amount of my morning ordering and making posts for all of the comics we've missed since October. That's progress! Hopefully, I'll have time to read them soon. *fingers crossed*

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly feature that's hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings. It highlights the upcoming releases we're really excited about reading! CWW is a spinoff of the feature Waiting on Wednesday (WoW), that was started by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

These Feathered Flames (These Feathered Flames, #1) by Alexandra Overy
Expected publication: April 10th 2021

Synopsis (via Goodreads): Three Dark Crowns meets Wicked Saints in this queer #ownvoices retelling of “The Firebird,” a Russian folktale, by debut author Alexandra Overy.

When twin heirs are born in Tourin, their fates are decided at a young age. While Izaveta remained at court to learn the skills she’d need as the future queen, Asya was taken away to train with her aunt, the mysterious Firebird, who ensured magic remained balanced in the realm.

But before Asya’s training is completed, the ancient power blooms inside her, which can mean only one thing: the queen is dead, and a new ruler must be crowned.

As the princesses come to understand everything their roles entail, they’ll discover who they can trust, who they can love—and who killed their mother.

  1. I'm always up for a good retelling - thanks for sharing!

    1. I love retellings for obscure stories! A lot of the modern fairy tales and Disney movies have been overdone.

  2. OOh nice one! That's a totally new to me one. I hope you love it once you get to read it!

    1. Girrrrrl, I am SO BEHIND on my comics! I have the first three issues for An Unkindness of Ravens, but haven't actually read them yet. I'm going to try and catch up this week. :)

    2. I'll be looking out for your reviews. ๐Ÿ˜Š
