State of the ARC [13]

State of the ARC is a monthly meme hosted by Avalinah at Avalinah's Books! It's an opportunity for readers to catch up on their long overdue ARCs, but right now I'm using it to keep up with my upcoming ARCs instead. It helps me stay organized!

Discretion (The Dumonts, #1) by Karina Hale (8/6)
Vow of Thieves (Dance of Thieves, #2) by Mary E. Pearson (8/6)
The Last Hope (The Raging Ones, #2) by Krista & Becca Ritchie (8/13)

Nothing to Fear (Final Hour, #2) by Juno Rushdan (8/27)
Rage (Stormheart, #2) by Cora Carmack (8/27)
The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett (9/3)

Frankly in Love by David Yoon (9/10)
Six Goodbyes We Never Said by Candace Ganger (9/24)
Cursed by Thomas Wheeler, Frank Miller (Illustrator) (10/1)

The Grace Year by Kim Liggett (10/8)
Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren (10/22)
When the Stars Lead to You by Ronni Davis (11/12)

Most of these will be released this month! I thought I saw someone mention August ARCs or ARCs of August on Twitter, but I'm not sure what that is. Is there a challenge people can participate in, or do you just keep track of all the ARCs you've read during the month? I've already started Vow of Thieves and I'm loving it! The world... the characters... amazing.

  1. Ooh lots of great looking books on here! I'm excited for Lady Rogue and Twice in a Blue Moon!
ARC August is a challenge where you basically challenge yourself to read ARCs. Plus, there are fun challenges, but the reading itself is low-key and up to you. Read Sleep Repeat hosts it!

    1. Lady Rogue sounds AMAZING! I cannot wait to read that one. Christina Lauren has been on FIRE lately, so I'm hopping Twice in a Blue Moon gives me all the laughs and feels. Thanks for letting me know about ARC August! I think I'll keep a little list for myself and them announce my results on Twitter or something. :)

  2. Yikes, 5 of these are for August! LOL You're going to be a reading/reviewing machine this month. :) I had/have 3 for August, one of which I've already reviewed. And I'm currently reading #2. As soon as I knock out the third I'm going to kick back and read some from my shelves. What a concept! :)

    1. Girl! I'm already finished with Vow of Thieves, and didn't finish Discretion. I'm jumping into The Last Hope now, and then I'll only have two left! I am staying on top of my reading this month, since I've been trying to immerse myself in fictional worlds whenever possible. I'm surfacing though, and will be back to hopping around the blogosphere in not time. <3

    2. I also read A Court of Thorns and Roses for the first time and fell in love. I already want to re-read the series and bought them as soon as I'd finished the first book. I'll likely re-read it as soon as I finish my August ARCs. ;)

    3. Yay! I'm so excited that you loved it! I actually wish I could wipe my memory and read them for the first time. I love those characters and that world!

    4. IT'S SUCH AN AMAZING SERIES! My review for the ACOMAF and ACOWAR should be up in a few days. I'm taking my time with ACOFAS because I want to drag out the experience after binging the first three books in just a few days. I also want to re-read those because of how differently I view everything that happened in ACOTAR now!

  3. I keep track of my ARCs by writing tentative post dates on my calendar. I've tried listing them in my bullet journal, but using monthly calendar spreads makes it so much easier to keep track of when books are being released.

    1. I've tried writing them down, but I always forget where my list is, and never mark off the ones I've read. Making a post at the start of every month gives me something to refer back to. I also know that it's not going to disappear, haha. ;)

    1. Mary E. Pearson is an AMAZING author! Vow of Thieves was perfection, and this is now one of my favorite duologies! I highly recommend it! I've enjoyed a lot of Christina Lauren's books in the past, and Jenn Bennett is my jam. You should try one! ;)

    1. I mostly enjoyed the first book. There were some things that bugged me, but overall is was a very interesting concept. However, it was the flarking ending that made me want to read the sequel. I haaate cliffhangers, but this one was totally unexpected, and just really well done. I need to know what happens next!!

    3. I did see a review a while back that made me curious, but then I kinda forgot about it. I might check these out!!

  6. I am so jealous you have Frankly in Love and When the Stars Lead to You. Those pubs show me no love. I can't wait to see what you think.

    1. When the Stars Lead to You was an #arcsfortrade on Twitter! I just got lucky with that one. Frankly in Love was a total surprise! DM or email me if you want to borrow them. :)

  7. So many beautiful books here, none of which match the ARCs I've got! August is going to be a busy reading month :-)

    1. Hah! It seems like a lot of books are being released this month, and very few people seem to overlap with what they have. I hope you enjoy yours! <3

  8. I need to focus on more review books this month, but I'm trying to balance it a bit more too.

    1. I've been trying really hard to make time for re-reads. I've been craving the familiarity of past favorites, and contemplating diving back into those more often.

    1. Three down and two to go! Whoop! I'm trying to decide if I want to read fantasy and adventure next (Rage) or romance and action (Nothing to Fear). Decisions...hmm. I also need to catch up on my comics, and then maybe re-read ACOTAR before September. There's just not enough time, Karen!! ;)
