My Weekly Pull [81] & Can't-Wait Wednesday [51]

My Weekly Pull is something I do every Wednesday (when the stars align in my favor) to show which comics I had pulled for me that week! If you're into comics, or you're looking to start, please join me! If you decide to do your own post, there's a link-up at the bottom. I would love to stop by and check it out!
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge #4 (of 5) by Ethan Sacks, Will Sliney, Tommy Lee
Shades of Magic Night of Knives #8 by V.E. Schwab, Budi Setiawan, Jesus Hervas, Enrica Eren Angiolini
Goosebumps Horrors of the Witch House #3 by Denton J. Tipton, Chris Fenoglio, Matthew Dow Smith

Canto #2 (of 6) by David M. Booher, Drew Zucker
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #9 by Tom Taylor, Ken Lashley, Woo Dae Shim, Juan Cobal

Jacob's comics for the week!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #96 by Tom Waltz, Dave Wachter, Kevin Eastman
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Urban Legends #15 by Gary Carlson, Frank Fosco
Venom Annual #1 by Ryan Cady, Simone Di Meo, Woo Dae Shim

Well, I don't love the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge cover, but I'm obsessed with the Shades of Magic Night of Knives cover! It's like a painting you never want to stop looking at. My son and I are still enjoying both the Goosebumps Horrors of the Witch House and Canto comics. I'm behind on Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but really like this variant!

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, that highlights upcoming releases that we're anticipating and excited to read. It's a spinoff of the feature Waiting on Wednesday that was hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

When We Were Vikings
by Andrew David MacDonald
Expected publication: January 28th 2020
Synopsis (via Goodreads): A heart-swelling debut for fans of The Silver Linings Playbook and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Sometimes life isn’t as simple as heroes and villains.

For Zelda, a twenty-one-year-old Viking enthusiast who lives with her older brother, Gert, life is best lived with some basic rules:

1. A smile means “thank you for doing something small that I liked.”
2. Fist bumps and dabs = respect.
3. Strange people are not appreciated in her home.
4. Tomatoes must go in the middle of the sandwich and not get the bread wet.
5. Sometimes the most important things don’t fit on lists.

But when Zelda finds out that Gert has resorted to some questionable—and dangerous—methods to make enough money to keep them afloat, Zelda decides to launch her own quest. Her mission: to be legendary. It isn’t long before Zelda finds herself in a battle that tests the reach of her heroism, her love for her brother, and the depth of her Viking strength.
When We Were Vikings is an uplifting debut about an unlikely heroine whose journey will leave you wanting to embark on a quest of your own, because after all...

We are all legends of our own making.

This sounds amazing, and I absolutely love the cover!!

    1. There are a LOT of Spider-Man comics! I really liked Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows, and the current ongoing Miles Morales Spider-Man. Tom Taylor's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is good too!

  4. Ooh I feel like I've been missing these comics posts lately! Star Wars Galaxy's Edge looks kinda cool- I've been getting more into Star Wars lately with the new movie coming- and I like that art style on Goosebumps too.

    1. It's probably my fault! I'm just now getting back into the swing of things! They've been pretty erratic as of late, but I have been able to get them up each week. I'm enjoying Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, and think there's a book coming out... The Goosebumps artwork is so fun!

  8. Ah! Thank you for featuring my book! I love the cover, too; we had a lot of back and forth, getting it just right. I wish I could share those designs, but I don't think I'm allowed.

Anyway! I hope you all fall in love with Zelda like I did.

    1. Haha, that's okay. I'm sure it was an amazing experience for you... watching as they created an image that would represent your story! I can only imaging what that's like. I really like the end result, and cannot wait to read it for myself. :)
