My Weekly Pull [82] & Can't-Wait Wednesday [52]

My Weekly Pull is something I do every Wednesday (when the stars align in my favor) to show which comics I had pulled for me that week! If you're into comics, or you're looking to start, please join me! If you decide to do your own post, there's a link-up at the bottom. I would love to stop by and check it out!

Daredevil #9 by Chip Zdarsky, Lalit Kumar Sharma, Julian Totino Tedesco
Transformers #10 by Brian Ruckley, Cachet Whitman, Bethany McGuire-Smith, Thomas Deer
Transformers Ghostbusters #3 by Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening

Jacob's comics for the week!
Absolute Carnage #1 by Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman
Batman Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #4 by James Tynion IV, Freddie Williams II, Kevin Eastman
Punisher #14 by Matthew Rosenberg, Szymon Kudranski
Savage Avengers #4 by Gerry Duggan, Mike Deodato, David Finch
Sensational Spider-Man Self-Improvement #1 by Peter David, Rick Leonardi, Ron Frenz

Not too many for me this week! This is actually a good thing, since I am ridiculously behind on my comics. I've just been reading some really good books lately, and don't want to put them down for something else. Reader problems, right??

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, that highlights upcoming releases that we're anticipating and excited to read. It's a spinoff of the feature Waiting on Wednesday that was hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

All the Bad Apples by Moira Fowley-Doyle
Expected publication: August 27th 2019
Synopsis (via Goodreads): The day after the funeral all our mourning clothes hung out on the line like sleeping bats. 'This will be really embarrassing,' I kept saying to my family, 'when she shows up at the door in a week or two.'

When Deena's wild and mysterious sister Mandy disappears - presumed dead - her family are heartbroken. But Mandy has always been troubled. It's just another bad thing to happen to Deena's family. Only Deena refuses to believe it's true.

And then the letters start arriving. Letters from Mandy, claiming that their family's blighted history is not just bad luck or bad decisions - but a curse, handed down through the generations. Mandy has gone in search of the curse's roots, and now Deena must find her. What they find will heal their family's rotten past - or rip it apart forever.

    1. Right?? I haven't read anything else by the author either, but I'm looking forward to this one. I hope we both love it when we have a chance to read it. <3

  3. All the Bad Apples sounds super interesting. The mention of a curse makes me wonder if there’s some magical realism that’s used. Don’t have long to wait, at least!

    1. I know! I've had my eye on this one for awhile, but there's no shortage of books I "can't wait" for. ;)

  4. I haven't read a comic of graphic novel in AGES seems like. I need to get back on it. How are you liking Marvel's stuff these days? I've been debating trying the new X-Men reboot.

    1. Same!! I've been so busy getting my monster ready for school, and spending time with the kiddos (indoor activities only because it's HOT). I'm already halfway finished with Rage, and that leaves just one August ARC. I plan on catching up on my comics AND re-reading ACOTAR.

I've heard really good things about the new X-Men comic! I'm just feeling overwhelmed with what I already have. If you try it, let me know if it's worth getting! Also, Once and Future comes out next week, and they've already sold out TWICE. They're on the third printing for a comic that hasn't technically been released yet. It's bananas, and also one I've been anticipating.

  5. I just finished All the Bad Apples the other day, and it was another Fowley-Doyle hit for me. I blazed through that book, and the most haunting part of it is that the "family history" she shared was based on real history.

    1. Really?? That makes it even more spooky! When fictional books tie into real events, it always makes me wonder... *shivers* I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it!

    1. Thanks, Crystal! I hope I can get to them soon. My stack is looking a little precarious on my desk. Especially when I have three monsters running around all the time. ;)

    1. No worries! Happy to have you join! :) Yes! That DD cover is awesome. Sometimes I have a hard time choosing between covers. The variants can be so awesome! I just know I don't need two copies of the same comic, haha.
