The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at the Caffeinated Reviewer! It's an opportunity to share news, post a recap for the previous week, showcase books, and highlight what's planned for the week ahead.
News:
I spent a ridiculous amount of time the other day making Challenge Progress bars for my blog. I'm out of practice and my html skills are a little rusty, lol. I'm really happy with how they turned out though! Sadly, I didn't do much reading this week due to a weirdly busy schedule that didn't allow for it. Although, I was able to start listening to Attached at the Hip - audiobooks for the win!
We've had warm weather this week! It's been in the high 50's and low 60's. So. Lovely. I know we have more cold weather coming up, so I'm trying to enjoy this while it lasts. I think the chickens are feeling the warm weather also, because they've been laying eggs like crazy. We might have to start giving them away to our neighbors soon. π
My copy of Onyx Storm finally arrived! My plan is to start reading it Monday and hopefully finish it on Tuesday. It all depends on my kids and whether or not they'll leave me alone long enough to get through it, lol.
Previous Week on the Blog:
Sunday: The Sunday Post [68]
Monday: π«
Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday [6]
Wednesday: DNF&Y [45]
Thursday: Lightlark (Lightlark, #1) by Alex Aster, π§ Narrated by Suzy Jackson *review

What I'm Currently Reading:
π§ Attached at the Hip by Christine Riccio
I recently started Attached at the Hip and I'm really enjoying the audio so far! The MC is a little over-the-top, but I'm hoping she gets better as the story progresses. I still need to finish the other two. π
What I Plan on Reading Next:
The Encanto's Daughter (The Encanto's Daughter, #1) by Melissa de la Cruz
We Would Never by Tova Mirvis
What I'm Watching:
Absolutely nothing right now, lol. I can't remember the last time I sat down and turned on the TV.
Challenge Updates:
- Audiobook Challenge: 3 / 30
- Goodreads Challenge: 5 / 100
- Physical TBR: 2 / 50
- NetGalley: 2 / 50
I'm setting my Physical TBR and NetGalley goals to 50! I hope I'm able to make a dent in both this year.
You have chickens? Any other animals? The weather sounds nice. We had a rare stretch but now were back to cold/rain and even some snow.
ReplyDeleteJust the dogs and cats we've always had! We want a small farm once we're done living the military life. Goats and maybe a cow? We'll see! Our warm weather is coming to end. π’ We'll be back in the teens this weekend.
DeleteGood luck with your reading goals. And your chickens! And thanks for commenting on my blog earlier. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm happy with the progress I've made so far and hope to meet all my goals by the end of the year. The chickens are wonderful and we love them. ❤️
DeleteI really enjoyed Things We Do in the Dark and hope you so as well. I have the first two books in the Encanto's Daughter series, so am looking forward to getting to them. Nothing like fresh eggs. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI'm liking it so far! I hope we both enjoy Encanto's Daughter. :)
DeleteFresh eggs are amazing and one of my new favorite things. The kids love collecting them every day.
Oh nice! I'm envious of your html skills! I have zero in that area! Lol. If I can't google the answer, I'm in trouble! Good luck with all the goals!
ReplyDeleteI still need to read IF. I held off on that one as I knew OS was going to be awhile and I knew, just knew IF would have a cliffhanger and NOW I hear OS has a monstrous cliffhanger and the next book is slated for sometime in 2027? I'm going insane trying to figure out when to read the rest of this series! Lol.
Here's my Monday Wrap-up
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
It's definitely been a lot of trial and error. π
Delete2027!? That's so far away! The cliffhanger at the end of Iron Flame was awful. I think I might follow Rachel's lead and hold off until more books are released. I just don't like being left feeling like that after investing so much time and energy into a book, especially when the next one isn't available.
I got my copy of Onyx Storm last week, too, but I probably won't read it right away. I think I'm going to wait until more books come out that way I can binge them. Hope you love it! I wish we had chickens, but I think we're gone too much. I worry about wildlife getting to them. We'd have to install an electrified fence I think. Happy you've been having some warmer weather to enjoy. We've had nothing but rain for the last four days and it's supposed to continue for the rest of the week except Wednesday. We may get snow on Friday. Have a lovely week, Lindsi!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about rereading the first two before starting Onyx Storm. My friend group that's already read it said they felt lost at first and recommended a refresher. Waiting until the others come out is also a good idea! I hate cliffhangers. π«
DeleteWe live in an area with a lot of wildlife as well. My husband built a coop and run for them to hang out in most of the time, but we also give them time out in the yard every day. Our one rooster is big enough to challenge most predators now. It's been nice having daily access to eggs, and they're pretty easy to take care of. The kids have been helping a lot! They honestly do most of it themselves.
I hope you got through all your rainy weather! I would honestly prefer that to snow at the moment, but I'm also tired of having a muddy yard because it keeps getting tracked into the house. We're still having some 60's weather this week, but it's going to end in a few days. π’
I hope Onyx Storm is a good read for you. Your dog is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThank you! She's getting old but still loves to be around people. ❤️
DeleteOoh enjoy Onyx Storm! I still need to catch up with book two π
ReplyDeleteI'm actually thinking about rereading the first two before starting the third. I know I've forgotten things. π
DeleteGood luck with your challenges and goals! Attached at the Hip looks really good. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy with the progress I've made so far! I'm hoping to meet all my goals by the end of the year. :)
DeleteOnyx Storm is so pretty, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI hope the inside is just as amazing!
DeleteIf I had to do any coding for my blog posts I would throw in the towel. LOL
ReplyDeleteHa! It's fun to play around with sometimes, but it can also be really frustrating. π
DeleteSeriously gotta love audiobooks. I was against them for so long.. finally gave in last year and they have been life changing.. I am no longer too busy for a book.
ReplyDeleteThey're still not my favorite way to read a book, but like you said... life changing! It helps me get through more books on my TBR because I can listen while working on other things.
DeleteI love how they designed Onyx Storm! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have the edges facing out on my shelf so I can see the design! It's so pretty.
DeleteI love programming the blog. Congrats on getting your coding to work! I would love to say I’m not watching tv but it’s always on for background noise. I hope your week has been good so far.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I can't do anything on a large scale, but I can alter small things here and there. I really enjoy it. :) I wish I could leave the TV on for background noise, but I'm easily distracted, lol.
DeleteWith the price of eggs rising due to the bird flu, you will become real popular giving them away. Audiobooks really are great in that they let us read while doing those mindless chores or driving, etc. Hope you are having a great week.
ReplyDeleteI've given away two dozen so far. There's no way we could eat them all! I'm honestly surprised they're laying eggs with how cold it is. Yes! Audiobooks definitely make mindless chores better AND we get to finish books. Thanks, Sam!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous book with the edges! Oh gosh, I was just thinking that I haven't tried to do any coding for my blog in a long time and have probably forgotten how lol.
ReplyDeleteI did forget how! π It honestly took me several hours to figure out something that should have taken 5 minutes.
DeleteI love chickens! My grandmother had them (and ducks, geese, and goats) on her farm, but they were for more than just eggs (as well as the ducks) and that's why my mother would never eat poultry. Thank goodness the goats were pets and the geese the farm "watchdogs". π
ReplyDeleteWe had one day with a high of 38°, but the rest have been teens and low 20s with windchills in the single digits. It looks like these temps are here for at least for the next two weeks. π
I will be looking out for your thoughts on A Language of Dragons. π
We've considered raising meat animals in the future, but I just don't know if I could stomach it. I get so attached and wouldn't want to end their lives just to eat them.
DeleteBoooo cold weather. We got more snow today. π
