My Weekly Pull [124] & Can't-Wait Wednesday [99]

My Weekly Pull is something I do every Wednesday to show which comics I had pulled for me that week! If you're into comics, or you're looking to start, please join me! If you decide to do your own post, there's a link-up at the bottom. I would love to stop by and check it out!

Avengers #34 by Jason Aaron, Javi Garron, Matteo Scalera
Spider-Woman #2 by Karla Pacheco, Pere Perez, Junggeun Yoon
Guardians of the Galaxy #4 by Al Ewing, Juan Cabal, Ivan Shavrin

Family Tree #7 by Jeff Lemire, Phil Hester
Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance #9 by Matthew Erman, Jo Cheol-Hong, Mona Finden
Once & Future #9 by Kieron Gillen, Dan Mora

๐Ÿ’ฅ Jacob's comics for the week! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Venom #26 by Donny Cates, Iban Coello, Ryan Stegman
Amazing Spider-Man #44 by Nick Spencer, Kim Jacinto, Carlos Gomez
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Last Ronin #1 by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Tom Waltz, Andy Kuhn
Transformers '84 Secrets & Lies #1 by Simon Furman, Guido Guidi
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #106 by Sophie Campbell, Nelson Daniel, Kevin Eastman

Now that they're back to releasing comics every week, I should probably start reading what I have so I don't get behind (again)! Family Tree and Once & Future are two of my faves, so I'll likely start with those. We don't normally get an Avengers comic, but they're currently doing an arc with Moon Knight, so obviously we're going to read it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This new Guardians of the Galaxy series has already made me SOB, so I'm nervous what the future issues will do to my fragile heart. The first Spider-Woman issue was interesting, but I'm not sure it's a series I'll continue. I like to give a new series at least three issues to set up a story before making a final decision.

I'm curious about Jacob's The Last Ronin, even though I don't read TMNT comics. They're surprisingly dark

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly feature that's hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings. It highlights the upcoming releases we're really excited about reading! CWW is a spinoff of the feature Waiting on Wednesday (WoW), that was started by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Amelia Unabridged by Ashley Schumacher
Expected publication: February 16th 2021 by Wednesday Books

Synopsis (via Goodreads): Sparks fly between two teens as they grapple with grief, love, and the future in this unforgettable debut novel sure to entice fans of Jandy Nelson and Jennifer E. Smith

Eighteen-year-old Amelia Griffin is obsessed with the famous Orman Chronicles, written by the young and reclusive prodigy N. E. Endsley. They’re the books that brought her and her best friend Jenna together after Amelia’s father left and her family imploded. So when Amelia and Jenna get the opportunity to attend a book festival with Endsley in attendance, Amelia is ecstatic. It’s the perfect way to start off their last summer before college.

In a heartbeat, everything goes horribly wrong. When Jenna gets a chance to meet the author and Amelia doesn’t, the two have a blowout fight like they’ve never experienced. And before Amelia has a chance to mend things, Jenna is killed in a freak car accident. Grief-stricken, and without her best friend to guide her, Amelia questions everything she had planned for the future.

When a mysterious, rare edition of the Orman Chronicles arrives, Amelia is convinced that it somehow came from Jenna. Tracking the book to an obscure but enchanting bookstore in Michigan, Amelia is shocked to find herself face-to-face with the enigmatic and handsome N. E. Endsley himself, the reason for Amelia’s and Jenna’s fight and perhaps the clue to what Jenna wanted to tell her all along.

Ashley Schumacher's devastating and beautiful debut, Amelia Unabridged, is about finding hope and strength within yourself, and maybe, just maybe, falling in love while you do it.
