State of the ARC [15]

State of the ARC is a monthly meme hosted by Avalinah at Avalinah's Books! It's an opportunity for readers to catch up on their long overdue ARCs, but right now I'm using it to keep up with my upcoming ARCs instead. It helps me stay organized!

The Last True Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake (10/1)
10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston (10/1)

Cursed by Thomas Wheeler, Frank Miller (Illustrator) (10/1)
How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse (The Thorne Chronicles, #1) by K. Eason (10/8)
The Best at It by Maulik Pancholy (10/8)

The Grace Year by Kim Liggett (10/8)
Fireborne (The Aurelian Cycle, #1) by Rosaria Munda (10/15)
Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren (10/22)

Songs from the Deep by Kelly Powell (11/5)
When the Stars Lead to You
by Ronni Davis (11/12)
Coral by Sara Ella (11/12)

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord (1/21)
When We Were Vikings by Andrew David MacDonald (1/28)
Foul is Fair (Foul is Fair, #1) by Hannah Capin (2/4)

Jack Kerouac is Dead to Me by Gae Polisner (4/7)

Scars Like Wings, The Last True Poets of the Sea, and 10 Blind Dates are my newest ARCs! I'll be reading and reviewing them for various blog tours this month, so check back later for my thoughts! I'm nearly finished with Cursed, but I'm bummed I wasn't able to review it before its release date (today). I wasn't expecting the brutality and violence, but it's been an interesting read so far.

October is going to be a busy reading month for me, so you'll likely see some increased activity over the next few weeks. I'm struggling to stay on top of everything at the moment, so if anyone knows how to clone humans, let me know. My son's new school is all the way across town, which means we've had to adjust our pick up and drop off times (early and earlier), but it's worth it since he's actually happy and enjoying school now. Soccer games have officially started (scheduling has been a nightmare), and now our weekends are full. Thankfully, no one is sick! Flu shots here we come...

I'm going to try and knock out a lot of blogging this weekend! I really miss popping in and saying hello, and I know I've missed some amazing posts. Don't be alarmed if you get a million comment notifications. ;)

What is your most anticipated read for October?

  1. I love the covers for Furyborn, and How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse. I hope they are as good on the inside. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I loved the first 80% of The Grace Year, but the last 20% was crammed full of every YA trope-y thing imaginable. ๐Ÿ˜

    1. How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse is one of my most anticipated reads this year! I really like the blurb, so I hope it's as good as it sounds. :) Noooo! I hate it when I love a book and then the ending ruins everything. Boo.

    1. I haven't read anything by the author, but people rave about her books! I've seen Ninth House all over the blogosphere the last few months. Cursed has been interesting so far! The illustrations are few and not fantastic, but add more depth to the story. :)

  4. Glad to hear your son is enjoying school more now! I am reading Fireborne right now and enjoying it though it oddly feels adult to me at times. I hope you enjoy these other reads. Coral looks good and I kind of kick myself for not trying to snag it. ❤️

    1. Do you think Fireborne should have been labeled NA? I'm really looking forward to Coral, so I hope it's not disappointing! :)

  8. I thought Scars Like Wings was fantastic. I hope you enjoy it. My library actually has 10 Blind Dates, and I am looking forward to reading it after my #ReadForGrace TBR. I am not holding out hope for an ARC of When the Stars Lead to You, but it sounds really good.

    1. I've only heard good things about Scars Like Wings so far! I saw your tweet about it being one of your five-star reads this month. <3 I'm going to DM you about the #ReadForGrace TBR, since I have a feeling I know what it's for, but this is the first I'm hearing about it. Unless it's something you've decided to do on your own? I lucked out and traded for When the Stars Lead to You! :)
