My Weekly Pull [13]

My Weekly Pull is something I will be doing every Wednesday to show which comics I had pulled for me that week! If you're into comics, or you're looking to start, please join me! If you decide to do your own post, leave a link in the comments. I would love to stop by and check it out!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #80 by Tom Waltz, Brahm Revel, Kevin Eastman
Hit-Girl #2 by Mark Millar, Ricardo Lopez Ortiz, Dustin Nguyen
Black Panther #171 by Ta-Nehisi Coates, Leonard Kirk, Brian Stelfreeze
Daredevil #600 by Charles Soule, Ron Garney, David Aja

Despicable Deadpool #297 by Gerry Duggan, Mike Hawthorne
Invincible Iron Man #598 by Brian Michael Bendis, Stefano Caselli, Alex Maleev
Legion #3 (of 5) by Peter Milligan, Wilfredo Torres, Javier Rodriguez
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #29 by Brandon Montclare, Natacha Bustos

Moon Knight #193 by Max Bemis, Jacen Burrows
Old Man Hawkeye #3 by Ethan Sacks, Marco Checchetto
Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man #302 by Chip Zdarsky, Joe Quinones
Spider-Man Deadpool #30 by Robbie Thompson, Chris Bachalo

I'm really worried about my Old Man Hawkeye. The cover looks painful! I was iffy on this one after the first issue, but it really picked up with the second. The villain is no joke.

Jacob and I did decide to stop getting Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. There still hasn't been a dinosaur (since the Legacy issue), and I'm not a fan of the Fantastic Three team-up. We did decide to finish out this arc, so I think that means this issue and the next.

Moon Knight didn't end with a cliffhanger this time, but I still never know what is going to happen. I thought I understood how his mind worked, but now I'm not so sure... it's trippy.

Loving the covers for Invincible Iron Man and Legion!

I didn't like the first issue of Hit-Girl (Jacob did), but I like to read the first three issues in a series before I make a decision (unless I just really, really hated the first one). I do love the cover for this week!

Daredevil just hit 600! There were so many different covers to choose from, but we went with this variant. I love how the birds are flying out of the back of his head. (I personally have not read DD, but fully intend to! It's just going to be quite the endeavor.)

I'm pretty much caught up on all of my comics, so I've started the Venom series. There's quite a few of those, too, so it's going to take me a little bit. I need to get past Lee Price... Dude is bad news.

  1. Replies
    1. I wish you did, too! Is it possible for you to order them online or buy the digital versions?

  2. I actually haven't tried reading comics but I am very interested. Do you have any suggestion for a first timer?

    1. First timer? Hmm. I would suggest Hawkeye (the newest Kate Bishop version by Kelly Thompson) was an amazing series that just ended, Spider-Man Renew Your Vows has been WONDERFUL, All-New Wolverine (Tom Taylor) is my favorite mutant comic right now, and Gwenpool if you're feeling cheeky.

    2. I'm also enjoying Rogue & Gambit by Kelly Thompson, but it's only going to be 5 issues. X-Men Red (also Tom Taylor) has been promising so far! Tales of Suspense if you like Bucky and Hawkeye (the Clint Barton Hawkeye). I think it's 12 issues. Astonishing X-Men is twisty! Moon Knight is daaaark.

  3. I'm going to make hubby go to the comic book store with me this weekend I think :D

    1. Ohh, you definitely should! Let me know what you get!

  4. Comics have never been my thing but the little dude loves them and we spend a good hour every other Saturday romping around while he chooses. :)

    1. You should try old book stores! They usually have used comics (most in perfectly good condition), but for a lot less than a comic book store would charge. It's a good way to find out what you like before visiting your local comic shop. I love supporting our LCS, and they've been wonderful, but I also want to know what I like before I start pulling it every week.

I'm happy your little dude enjoys them! They're so fun!

    2. (Besides... some of the older stuff is the BEST!)

  5. That’s a lot of DDs to catch up on. Good luck! Moon Knight looks interesting. I’m unfamiliar with him.

    1. I know, right? It seems like such a daunting task. However, it's not any worse than my TBR pile...haha!

Moon Knight is very interesting, and very complicated. He has multiple personalities residing in his head, so you're not always guaranteed the same person. There's also missing time to deal with, different opinions, etc. Very well done! I was iffy at first, but now I'm hooked.

  6. I don't read comics but I love the Daredevil and Deadpool movies.

    1. I loved the first Deadpool movie! Ryan Reynolds is the perfect Wade Wilson.

Just the Daredevil movies? Have you watched the DD show on Netflix? The husband and I LOVE that!
