My Weekly Pull [11]

My Weekly Pull is something I will be doing every Wednesday to show which comics I had pulled for me that week! If you're into comics, or you're looking to start, please join me! If you decide to do your own post, leave a link in the comments. I would love to stop by and check it out!

All New Wolverine  #32 by Tom Taylor, Djibril Morissette-Phan, David Lopez
Astonishing X-Men #9 by Charles Soule, Matteo Buffagni, Leinil Francis Yu
Despicable Deadpool #296 by Gerry Duggan, Matteo Lolli, Declan Shalvey
Falcon #6 by Rodney Barnes, Sebastian Cabrol, Jay Anacleto
Marvel Two-In-One #4 by Chip Zdarsky, Valerio Schiti, Nick Bradshaw

New Mutants Dead Souls #1 by Matthew Rosenberg, Adam Gorham, Marcos Martin
Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man #301 by Chip Zdarsky, Joe Quinones
Punisher #222 by Matthew Rosenberg, Guiu Vilanova, Clayton Crain
Spider-Man Deadpool #29 by Robbie Thompson, Scott Hepburn

As you can see... Jacob did not give up Spider-Man Deadpool, so we are at odds. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I don't know why they are old men now, because I didn't get that far into their story, but I do love the covers. I think they're unique and still very them.

All New Wolverine is my favorite ongoing comic right now. If you're just getting started, you could definitely start with this one! Her Legacy issue isn't too far back.

The New Mutants Dead Souls is new this week! It looks really interesting and is supposed to explore some of the darker parts of the Marvel Universe.

I'm actually completely caught up on my comics right now, so I've been digging into some of the older stuff I haven't started yet. I'm almost finished with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ghostbusters 2 (it's only 5 issues), and then I'm going to tackle Venom. Jacob has already gotten them in order for me (the crossovers can be a bit confusing), and I cannot wait to start them! #WeAreVenom

  1. Love the Wolverine cover. Astonishing X-Men looks like Mystique is on the team? How's that going? She's one of my fave characters. And it looks like the New Mutants movie is gonna be dark, so maybe they're going that way with the comic too?

    Two-In-One looks a bit trippy.

    1. Mystique is part of the group! I wouldn't call them a "team" yet, because they are just the people Psylocke was able to reach when she was attacked. They all came to help and just started working together after that. Mystique has been there, and she's actually been helpful! Can you believe it? She does have a large role in this.

I believe so. The movie is supposed to be rated R, I think. It makes sense that the comic would be equally as dark. I'll get my copy today, so I'll let you know when I read it!

Two-In-One is making me crazy. It's a limited series, or I would have stopped reading it by now. Jacob seems to mostly enjoy it. I think they're ridiculous (Ben and Johnny).

Love the cover for All New Wolverine!

    2. Mystique is the best. And Two-in-One... yeah IDK. Those two... maybe they're trying to bring the Fantastic Four back?

    3. ๐Ÿคท There are things that make me think they are, but then something happens and I'll change my mind. I'm really not sure what they are trying to accomplish in this comic, unless it's being used to highlight the remaining two. I know they're also in Moon Girl's comic right now, but I don't think it's a "crossover" since the two stories don't overlap.

  2. I was about to ask which comic is the blue cover with the vines but then realised that it seems to be a placeholder to even all the other lovely covers out. I'm a dickhead ๐Ÿคฃ Love the cover on the New Mutant Dead Souls, going to check that one out and see if it's my cuppa. Thanks for sharing Linds and happy reading darling! <3

    1. Hahaha! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Yes, it's just a placeholder to make things even! It keeps me from having to make two separate images. I try to mix up how the comics are presented each week to keep it interesting!

New Mutants Dead Souls is supposed to be good! I've just heard that it's going to be dark and gruesome. I love that Magik is going to be involved. I think Jacob said this was going to be her team. I hope it ends up being your cuppa!

  3. I usually read graphic novels because I can get them through my library - they can be so expensive. But it means I have to wait a while between books of my favorite series. However, our library recently got Hoopla and I've been able to borrow single issues of some of my faves and am really enjoying it! Love seeing new comics here.

    1. I know! $$$ It's why we're trying to narrow down how many we get each month, but it's so hard! You get invested in certain characters and their stories, so it's hard to let go. I have to tell myself that if I'm not COMPLETELY in love with it, then I need to let it go.

I keep hearing about Hoopla! I'll have to look into it and see if my library offers it. I'm glad you've been able to read some of the singles you want! What are you reading right now? Which comics are your favorite?

    1. I've only read the first issue of Falcon! It's more of a Jacob comic, lol. I feel like it was very political and didn't engage me with the story. ๐Ÿคท He keeps trying to get me to read more issues, because he's convinced I'll change my mind. We'll see!

Yes! Read All New Wolverine--it's so great.

  5. That's one thing that confuses me about comics at times - I don't know what order they go in! lol One plus for reading the graphic novel volumes that often are released. :) I do love comics and I want to read more.

    1. Once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad! It took me a few weeks to get the hang of the Legacy numbering and what that meant! The comics are also pretty good at letting you know when there will be a crossover and such. It's just easier to let Jacob do it for me. ๐Ÿ˜†

    1. I'm really enjoying them! It's nice to mix them in with my books every now and then. Variety and all that!

  7. For whatever reason, I can't seem to get into comics. I think it's because the stories are so short. I don't feel like I get invested in the characters. Although, with the characters that I already know and love (i.e. Superman) I have found it a little easier with some editions (i.e. the Superman wedding edition).

    1. Hmm, graphic novels might be something you'd like! They're comics... but longer. ๐Ÿ˜ (Don't quote me on this, because I'm not super familiar with graphic novels. I believe they are the compilation of multiple issues for one comic. You'll have to double check!)

I haven't read any Superman! I tend to stay on the Marvel side.

    2. I'm more of a Marvel fan, myself. But, I do love Superman for some reason. I always have, lol.

I have read a few graphic novels and they have been easier for me to get into, but I still have a hard time with them. I wonder if I just haven't found the right story yet.
