My Weekly Pull [4]

I have been absolutely awful about doing this each week! I really want this to be a reoccurring post, so I need to get my shit together and start scheduling them in advance. Once I'm holding the comics, I have no desire to write a post about them. I want to sit down and read every single one. In my defense... I've waited a month to continue a story, and waiting another day is unnecessary torture.

This week:
All-New Wolverine #29
Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man #299
Amazing Spider-Man Venom Inc Omega

Last week:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #78
Daredevil #597
Despicable Deadpool #292
Gwenpool #24
Old Man Hawkeye #1
Phoenix Resurrection #3 (of 5)
The Punisher #220
Spider-Man Deadpool #26
Venom #160

All-New Wolverine is wonderfully intense! I love all of the characters and their story. Honey Badger is my new Spirit Animal. Gwenpool is ending (which I'm super bummed about). It's also weird because Gwenpool knows she's in a comic, so she also knows that her comic is about to end. I'm curious to see how they wrap up her story. Phoenix Resurrection is fabulous! If you want something short, it will only have 5 issues (but I definitely want more). I'm excited to read Old Man Hawkeye! The Hawkeyes are quickly becoming my favorite Marvel characters. All-New Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) is also ending. ๐Ÿ˜ญ I'm just happy Kelly Thompson is also writing Rogue & Gambit!

I haven't gotten into The Punisher yet. It's one my husband gets solo at the moment. I plan on reading it in the future, though. He says it's good, and I can usually trust his opinion. Books? No. Comics? Mostly.

  1. I always say I want to get into comics but never do but if they’re doing a new Gambit I’ll be all over it. I freaking adore him!!!

Have you watched the new Punisher on Netflix yet? I haven't heard much about it but I might check it out.

    1. We’ve started it! It’s good. I like some of the others more, though. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage...

  3. I do think I need to get into comics more. I just don't like spending the money on it and my library usually doesn't have a good selection. Now that more stuff is online... I might try some more recent ones. Love the graphics you chose.

    1. They have a lot of digital copies now! You can also look for them at book stores like Half Price Books. They'll usually have them for a discounted price (unless it's really old and popular).

Those aren't graphics! They're the covers for the comics. ๐Ÿ˜‰ A lot of comics will have multiple covers to choose from (a main and a variant), so the images I used are the covers I've selected for myself!

  4. I haven't read any comics, so this was an interesting post to read! If this is a recurring feature, I'd definitely check it out to see what kinds of comics I could explore. And I agree with the comment above, I love the graphics!

    1. I'm going to try and have a post like this every Wednesday (that's when new comics are released), so we'll see what happens! I hope I'm able to stick to it every week.

I mentioned this in the comment above, but: Those aren't graphics! They're the covers for the comics. ๐Ÿ˜‰ A lot of comics will have multiple covers to choose from (a main and a variant), so the images I used are the covers I've selected for myself!

Comics are wonderful! I didn't think I would like them as much as I do, but I'm an addict now.

  5. These are so interesting :) I never really read comics, but my brother sometimes does and he's into these kinds of stories too. I love your interest in these comics. All of them look so unique, I'd definitely take a look at one of them if I have the time :) Great post!

    1. You should try a few different comics to see if you would like them! My favorites are Gwenpool, All-New Hawkeye, All-New Wolverine and Phoenix Resurrection! They have strong female leads and really good stories. I just started Rogue & Gambit, and it's been great so far. All-New Hawkeye and Gwenpool are ending soon, All-New Wolverine has been ongoing, and the other two are very new. If you decide to try one, let me know what you think!

  6. I've bought a few comics over the years but have never Bern able to get into them as much as fictional novels. I don't mind the occasional graphic novel though. I'd much rather spend my time reading them than posting as well. Happy reading L <3

    1. Thanks! I know a lot of people that prefer graphic novels, which is perfectly okay! My husband and I really enjoy comics. We like going to book stores and thrift shops and looking for older issues we want. It's such a rush when you finally find something!
