My last two ARC reads weren’t that great, but I’m really enjoying Quicksilver. It’s not the best-written book I’ve ever read, but I love the characters and I’m really enjoying the story. It definitely gives off ACOTAR vibes, but I love the Fae/vampire twist. To quote my friend, "It's like good Swiss cheese. There's holes, but it still makes a great sandwich."

What I'm Watching
I’m rewatching Sword Art Online, but this time with the kids. We’re about halfway through S2 and really enjoying it! S1 is still my favorite, and I don’t think I’ve ever watched S3. I’m sure we’ll get to it eventually. I also saw Tomb Raider pop up on Kanopy, so I’ll probably watch that at some point this week. It’s been forever since I’ve seen that movie.

I met my NetGalley goal! I finally went through all of my requests (some were from 2017) and cleared out the books I’m no longer interested in and won’t be reading. Over the years I’ve gotten a little wiser and now only request books I really want to read, but past me requested anything and everything. My NetGalley ratio is still only 40%, but it’s definitely progress!
I hope you have a wonderful week! Happy reading!

It's nice to be near family. I hope all goes well with the packing and moving.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You'd think I'd be used to it my now, but it's still a stressful process. I'm praying it all goes smoothly and that we don't have to move again for a very long time.
DeleteGood luck with your move; they are a lot of work. Texas is a hot mess. I hope it goes well for you.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
What do you mean? Texas does tend to have hotter weather, but I'm seeing that in Colorado as well. We're really looking forward to moving closer to family! It's been too long since I could hop in the car and go visit my parents or my in-laws for the day. I know the kids will love having them at school concerts and sporting events. :)
DeleteOh nice! Being closer to family is always nice! That's what I am aiming for in my house search which has been pretty sad lately. Hoping this year will be my year though. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your reads for the week! I've heard some good buzz for Quicksilver. Kind of like how you said, it's not perfect, but still fun!
Here's my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you as well! Finding a house and moving is such a chore. We're being really picky this time since it's the house we're planning on being in for a while. We're used to moving every few years.
DeleteI immediately jumped into Brimstone! It's definitely full of holes, but I love it. :)
Congrats on hitting your netgalley goal! Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you have an amazing weekend.
DeleteI really hope this will be your last move, especially since you get to be near your family! Do you have a new teaching destination in the area already?
ReplyDelete40%, yikes. It can only get better from there LOL.
We plan on this being our last move until the kids are finished with school. I do have a new job lined up already, and I think it's going to be perfect! I'm really looking forward to it. ❤️
DeleteWhen I first started blogging, I requested EVERYTHING. My ratio suffered the consequences.
LOl that swiss cheese things, and omg that describes things so well
ReplyDeleteI died laughing when she made the comparison! ๐คฃ
DeleteThe Escape Room looks good. Hoping this is your last move. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to start it! And thank you! I'm really tired of moving and uprooting my life every few years. It will be nice to stay in one place for a while.
DeleteQuicksilver is on my TBR
ReplyDeleteGood luck with getting your Netgalley percentage up.
Wishing you a happy reading week
I really enjoyed Quicksilver! I immediately jumped into Brimstone, but audiobooks always take me longer than physical books. I definitely read faster than I listen. ๐
DeleteOh wow! Good luck with the move. I hope things go smoothly. I know I enjoying being close to family.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to have date nights with my husband! It's been so long.
DeleteI hope this will be your last move too. Moving is such a hassle.
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patrick's Day.
The hassliest hassle. Happy belated St. Patrick's Day, Mary! I hope you have an amazing weekend. :)
DeleteMoving is such a hassle! And having to pack both a classroom AND a house, good luck! Will you be teaching in Texas or are you also looking to switch careers?
ReplyDeleteYou’re doing a good job with your challenges so far!
